Especially the wide and long dimension of the Larch gives the rooms a special character. Because of the different widths the whole floor appears very lively and enlarges the entire room.

Large larch

Kitzbühel in Tyrol is known for combining the traditional lifestyle of an Austrian ski resort with the most glamorous guests in the world. Of course ambitions have to match reality to meet the requirements of a specific audience like this. The Hotel Kitzhof, a mountain design resort in Kitzbühel, fulfills the demands of its guests by creating an extraordinary atmosphere. The traditional ambience invites to stay and feel comfortable. Thanks to a proven floor like the mafi Larch Country Vulcano wide-plank the whole design concept of the dining room shines in an alpine experience.

The two main characteristics of a mafi wide-plank are the length of four or five meters and a ranging width between 155 and 300mm. Because of the different widths the whole floor appears very lively and enlarges the entire room. The remarkable lengths of the wooden planks give the room a generous character. An interesting detail is the intelligent and skilled installation. The two darker planks are guiding the guests through the corridor between the tables. This is a perfect example how to use the natural color differences to the benefit of an interior concept.

Larch Vulcano wide planks in Luxurios Romantic Hotel in Lech / AUT

We recently got pictures of a fantastically done project in Lech / Arlberg in one of Austrians best Skiing Resorts. The owners family of the Gasthof Post in Lech outfitted some of their luxurios but very traditional rooms with mafi floors.

It is an outstanding combinations of mafi Larch, brushed and white oiled with a typical traditional and romantic Austrian accommodation style.

They even used the mafi floors in the bathrooms what gives you a fantastic feeling on your feet when walking barefoot. To realize a wooden floor in a bathroom you only need a mafi floor and a perfect installation by a professional mafi certified installation team. This installation team made this marvellous installation technique in cascades possible too.

mafi Larch in Hotel Kitzhof in Kitzbuehl AT

This is a project in the traditional Hotel Kitzhof in Kitzbuehl with our mafi Larch County Vulcano brushed natural oiled wooden floor. The floor is in the restaurant of the Hotel since 8 years. Larch is the most hard-wearing conifer and therefore getting a charming patina over the years especially in higher frequented area.

We were there to visit the floor after 8 years and the floor still looks very good and beautiful. There is only one plank in front of the lift of the hotel which is strong worn which could easily be repaired or even removed. But as this plank is telling so many historic stories it doesn’t bother anybody not to be changed.
We think a Larch is beautiful for modern and also for traditional areas and it always gives good warmth feeling. mafi floors are not only for the private area also for high frequented areas a clever investment. With correct care the floor is beautiful and good looking for a long time.

Larch Virgin in private house

We recently got pictures of a nice done projects in an US American Ski Chalet. The owner wanted to do the whole house with the mafi Larch Virgin, brushed, natural oiled.
Combined with the stone walls and the fire place a special natural atmosphere was created. We think that this is a very nice project.

The mafi Larch floors are not only the most hard wearing conifer floors it is also a floor that can be brushed very good. This will provide you a very soft and warm walking on the floor and a slightly massage effect.

Georg’s experiences – part I

A client recently called me one and a half year after we did the installation of a mafi Larch wide plank in her private penthouse in Austria. She wanted to thank me for the help of choosing mafi floors and was very sceptic if the floor would be resistant enough for her family. “You have to know that I have three kids, two dogs and one husband. I really need a floor without problems.”
So when she called me she told me that she had an accident with the floor. Her kids mixed up the floor with drawing paper and made some “nice” scribbles on the floor. With markers. But after some tips of mafi’s cleaning expert and a smooth treatment with the mafi soap the floor looked like new again. Just wonderful.
Furthermore she told me that she is sooo happy that they chose a Larch and mixed it with there very unique, modern and clear penthouse furniture. “It just matches so good. Couldn’t believe that the vivid Larch will look so nice with our straight furniture”

Berger Feinste Confiserie is presenting their adorable chocolate creations on our mafi Domino Larch Vulcano sanded natural oiled in their office and showroom in Lofer/AUT. This is a very unique and a modern office/factory/showroom.

Domino floors combine the advantages of mafis Vulcano collection with modern possibilities in design. Many parts form a beautiful whole that will desight you with its viviness and style. Domino Vulcano elements are cut as end grain, at right angles to the trunk. The small blocks are held together on parquet mesh and, when glued to a standard substrate, form a particularly durable floor, suitable also for use in public or commercial areas.
