mafi is part of the catalysis projects for the the West Coast University in US. There will be 5200 square feet mafi Tiger Oak black color filler brushed natural oil installed by our partner mafi America Ltd.
West Coast University, a nursing and healthcare education specialist that has been expanding in both Orange and Los Angeles counties, is putting the finishing touches on new space that the university says will not only be more functional than traditional adult education facilities but will elevate the image of such schools and universities. West Coast’s facilities include a new North Hollywood campus of 115,000 square feet that is scheduled to open in August as well as two other campuses. Combined, the three facilities total 219,000 square feet, all of which is being designed or redesigned by the Southern California architectural firm of Shlemmer Algaze + Associates.

Relaxing in the rooms you can look through glass boards directly down into a stable. Larch Counrty wide plank: Heartwood with proportionate cracks is blended. Knotwholes and cracks as well as pitch pockets are filled with black putty. Very vivid surface appearance. A hard-wearing conifer floor. Planks up to 5 meter lenght and 30 centimetre width are available.
More and more of our products as like as the Beech Vulcano Fresco Duna are part of high end interior design. In this case there is a wonderful wall-application in the entrance Hall of the Mirabeau in Monaco. It is the former Mirabeau Hotel converted into 8 high end condominium Apartments in Monaco.
The owner is David and Frederik Barclay, also owners of the famous Ritz Hotel in London.
Beech Vulcano Fresco Duna is also vertical usable and works as a fantastically eye catcher generated by a unique material selection. More and more designers and architects growned to like the Duna to design rooms not only as floors but also for walls, ceilings and also furniture.
Fresco floors are also very good for wet rooms like bathrooms and areas where you often walk barefoot. The 3D structure massages your feet and also has an anti slip effect.

This traditional accommodation with a view into the Kitzbuehler Alps is equipped with a mafi natural wooden floor. For traditional objects it is important to use a natural product like our mafi floor with warmth feeling. You can see wooden floors in the most ski huts in the Austrian Alps and people walk on it with wet ski boots. The floors in the ski huts are made only with natural wood and a natural surface. Also for hotels and accommodations in the Alps is it important to use wood in a natural way for furniture and floors. The mafi oiled surface of wooden floors makes the wood almost as breathable as it is in it’s natural state (approx. 80%). The floor can breathe! The mafi oil is a natural oil free from solvents. About the brushed surface you can feel the naturalness of the wood.

Also very good visible is the natural colour diversity of the wood which makes the wood unique. We think this is a very good reference to show in which different ways mafi is used. We got these beautiful pictures from our partner mafi Italia. The architect Brusapasquè. from Studio Brusa Pasquè equipped the climate house with our Oak Vulcano brushed natural oil. The floor is very important especially for this house – it is a climate house and the architect used our floor because of it’s ecological attributes and art philosophy.
This private villa in Varese is classified in energetic class A. This is also possible because of the warm feeling of the mafi floor on your feet. Even in fall and sometimes in Winter you do not need to turn on the underfloor heating as the brushed and oiled surface is warmer then any other floors. This will not only reduce your heating costs but also will improve your quality of living.

We received pictures from a fantastic project in South Korea the other day. It is done by our partner “Armstrong Korea”. They are developing a Department store in Korea which will be opened in August and installing the mafi Domino Larch Vulcano floor on parts of the wall and ceiling.
The installation looks very good so far. The Korean Installers are working by the rulebook of mafi installation guide. They do a marvellous job on composing the different colour shades in a superb mixture of colours all over the wall and ceiling.
As there is currently no AC which will be as soon as the store will be opened they try to create a similar climate with vans to get the humidity as near as possible to the future conditions to make sure the the installation will be in perfect quality.
We recently got pictures of an unbelievable 1000 sqm private house and a beautiful view of the Los Angeles basin. For some rooms they used mafi Beech Fresco punto, white oiled. The house is a perfect symbioses of modern architecture and unique natural oiled floors which brings in the nature in the house.
This project is getting a lot of attention in the US. It is being heralded by some as the best Modern Home in Los Angeles.
Beyer& Freitag architectsequipped this Villa in Leer/GER with 270 square meters Oak Country, brushed oiled white. A very nice detail is the crossover between two rooms without any gaps or metal solutions.
They also used the mafi Oak Country for the stairs with the mafi plank as running-board and solid wood stair noses. This is an easy way to create a very beautiful stair design. The stair noses are available directly from mafi and for the running-board you only have to order the plank. mafi installers may help you to create a very unique way of getting up and down.
Oak Country white oil: Cracks, knotholes and large knots are emphasized with black putty. Colour retention given proper care. Light wood remains permanently light when treated with white Wood Floor Soap as white pigments are worked into the wood every time the floor is damp wiped.
Because of the very natural and vivid surface, just like we get it by nature, the floor is very insensitive against amrks and stains.
If still damaged the Country floors are very easy to repair. As no film forms on the wood, diagonal scratches and damage can be repaired at any time by sanding the affected area. Re-oiling is then carried out only on that area.
Star Architect Enrique Norten designed 6 fabolous glass penthouses with automated parking in the 1 York Street / Manhattan. He used our mafi Clear Oak, brushed and natural oiled for all six pents. We are very proud about this one york project.
