Larch and glass in Hotel Pogusch

Posted: October 29th, 2010 | Author: koan | Filed under: hotels | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

mafi Larch wide plank brushed natural oil is fantastically installed in the hotel rooms Pogusch in Steierereck. The rooms are  outstandingly mixed with natural products and  modern design. Relaxing in the rooms you can look through glass boards directly down into a stable. We really like the combination of a wooden floor with a glass floor-window as an optical highlight next to each other.

Nature brings unique variations every day

A perfect example of this is Tiger Oak with it’s irregular stripes that achieve an incomparably unique surface. With it’s vivid colour accents in black, cream, silver, gold or violet the luxury floor radiates an immensely sensuous lustre. Our partner in Russia used Tiger Oak different for a private house.

In every room is an other colour for the stripes of the Tiger Oak or an other oil. In the living room is the mafi Tiger Oak cream color filler brushed natural oil, while the violet color filler brushed white oil is in a bedroom of the house. Also you can see on the pictures that in the bedroom is a black color filler Tiger Oak install.

Tiger Oak is not only extremely decorative it is as hard-wearing and easy to clean as all mafi natural wooden floors.

Oak Vulcano in the Hotel Alpina

Posted: October 4th, 2010 | Author: koan | Filed under: hotels | Tags: , , , | 1 Comment »

mafi Oak Vulcano brushed natural oil is not only a heard wearing and warmness spending floor, it is also installed in the big Wellness Hotel Alpina in the “Alpendorf” in St. Johann / Pg. in Austria. They used the mafi Oak Vulcano for a heavily frequented area in the restaurant and the Wellness Area of the Hotel.

What you have to keep in mind if you use a mafi floor for a heavily frequented area…

You have to put felt pads on the chair to get no scratches. In public areas it is important to reoil the floor once a year to give the floor the ingredients it needs to keep the hard wearing surface as beautiful as it was on the first day. With the reoiling small scratches will be gone and the floor will get a saturated colour. It is important to know that for cleaning you have to use  mafi wood floor soap. Never use any other cleaning fluids as the floor’s surface can become washed out and sensitive to dirt as the mafi soap is cleaning and refatting the floor all at once. We recommend working with 2 buckets: 1 bucket with soap mixture and 1 bucket with clear water that is used to rinse the soiled wiping mop; change water frequently.

Advantages for public areas:

Resistance through use of mafi ‘s natural Oil because the Oil penetrates into the wood’s pores where it hardens. After hardening the surface is extremely hard wearing yet stays breathable and open-pore. Because of the open-pore surface the floor is free from static electricity and regulates the air humidity. Then  the regular care with mafi soap the floor increases its natural robustness as the soap contains protective vegetable oils. Small pressure marks will disappear without further treatment when the floor is damp wiped. mafi floors have a lot of positive advantages not only the optical look and uniqueness they are especially long lasting and dimensionally stable in each region of the world.

Vertical useability of mafi wood

Posted: July 20th, 2010 | Author: koan | Filed under: private houses | Tags: , , , , , , | No Comments »

We’ve got some extraordinary pictures of an exclusive apartment in Belgium. The interior designers from the construction company Elbeko were very creative with our Mafi wood. Walnut sanded natural oiled was used for the floor, the stairs, the desk and some shelves in the living room.

The Mafi Fresco Duna white oiled is used in the bedroom. The feeling of walking barefoot on the curved wood is like a gentle feet massage, a perfect feeling to start the day. The finishing touch in this room is the dressing with parts in the same Fresco Duna as the floor.

The Home cinema and bar is designed with the Mafi Domino. This wood blends in perfectly with the purpose of this entertainment room. The bar has a build-in fridge and shelves behind faded glass. Above this there’s a floating shelf with RGB LED lights, they point out the life and richness of the Mafi Domino wood. Across this bar there a unique Mafi furniture to separate the bar of the home cinema.

The fine craftsmanship is from Chris Veschaeve Bvba.

kitchen, doors and furniture – made possible by mafi CH

Posted: May 6th, 2010 | Author: koan | Filed under: references | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

This is a very special project to show what is possible with mafi natural wooden floors. On the pictures  you can see that the wood is used for the floor, the kitchen, the doors and for some of the furniture. There is a cabinet covered with mafi Oak. This is possible for nearly all furnitures and with almost every mafi floor.
“A good carpenter can make nearly everything out of our floors”, says Daniel Bangerter, CEO of mafi Suisse.
Also the kitchen is made with the same Oak and also brushed. We think this reference shows that you can make one line through the apartment which makes a very good interior design. The kitchen is from the carpenter Moser Appenzell/Switzerland.

They used mafi Oak Country, brushed oiled white for teh complete apartment.

Please have a look of the pictures about this perfect done detail work.
